Let’s keep going up the Visibility Ladder!

If you haven’t been following along, you should go listen to the episode on discovery and rapport-building content before you go deep into this episode. That’s the foundation for what we are about to talk about.

With the first two-steps of the visibility ladder in place, you have a way to warm up your audience and get them even more intimate with your content.

At the top of your visibility ladder, you can assume that the people watching or listening to this content are familiar with you and your message on at least one platform and they’ve opted to get even more intimate with your content. Now, they know, like, and trust you, so, it’s time to take them behind the scenes and get a bit vulnerable.

Typically, this is long-form content – but don’t get scared about that phrase.

A lot of time, I mention “long-form content” to people and they want to go running.

It’s really not near as scary as it seems. For example, if you click play on the podcast player above, you’ll be listening to some of my long-form content. This podcast is indeed my medium for creating this type of content.

And it’s great because it’s quick and easy to set up. I can literally roll out of bed, gather my key talking points, and turn on the microphone. No need to worry about perfect lighting, make-up (for all my lady readers), or configuring a bunch of equipment.

Your long-form platform might be different though. It could be blog posts like this one or it could be YouTube videos. You just have to find what works best for YOU.

Once you start pumping out this long-form content, you’ll notice that your audience will start commenting on things other than your business. Yes, all your accolades as an entrepreneur will still be recognized but they’ll also start saying things like “I never knew you were so funny” or “geez, I feel like I know you so much better now”.

That’s when you know it’s working.

You’ll see that people start speaking your language and help spread your message for you. You’re no longer a one-man (or woman) show – you have other’s out there “working” for you.

When we implemented the 3rd level of the Visibility Ladder into Marley Baird Media, it was a game-changer. It gave the people that were already consuming my content on the 1st and 2nd level, a way to join the movement. It was the path many of them had been looking for.

So if you aren’t taking people behind the scenes and opening up to your audience, I urge you to start.
