If you’re an entrepreneur, you already know that starting your business requires some ingenuity. You need to be forward-thinking and steadfast if you want to turn your idea into an actual product or service that generates impact and profit.
So many of the world’s most valuable inventions were ridiculed when they were first introduced. From airplanes to umbrellas, it seems like almost every valuable invention was first met with a ton of backlash. But look what happened! As time went by, people came to realize the true value of these products and they helped shape the world we know today. If that doesn’t get you hyped up over YOUR amazing business idea, I don’t know what will!
There are so many times in life when we let the naysayers or the “haters” take up space in our minds, and sometimes we’ll even let them influence our decision-making process. Chances are you’ll have to deal with some differing opinions. Especially when it comes to entrepreneurship, you’re going to face some opinionated people and maybe even some naysayers because you’re going against the grain.
And if you’re giving entrepreneurship another go after your last business ended up…well… ending, you’re going to be facing even more opinions. Not just from people who are envious of your courage or just have nothing nice to say, but also from people with good intentions. People who are cautiously optimistic for your future. And let’s face it, you’ll probably be facing some backlash from the inside of your own mind!
But if you have an idea that you just can’t let go of, if you know in your heart that entrepreneurship is the way forward for you, I want you to think about that lightbulb.
The world without your idea and your unique contribution is like the world without light bulbs. Whether you’re aware of it or not, people are stumbling around in the darkness trying to find a solution that will only come to them when YOU turn on the light.
Of course, you should think critically about when the right time is to jump into entrepreneurship head-on. For many people, starting off with a side hustle is the best way to start building your movement. For others, jumping in with both feet makes the most sense. But regardless of your circumstances, don’t let those opinions get in your way.
When I first started my business, I was really afraid of what people would think…Even though that was just a few years ago, social media and video marketing have grown SO MUCH and become so much more normal in that time. It’s so amazing how quickly things become normal and accepted… and then how quickly those normal things become obsolete, and so on.
Your idea, even if it seems weird or out-of-left-field, could be tomorrow’s normal! But you need to give it the nourishment it needs to grow. I see this process happen time and time again with my students. At first, whether they know it or not, they’ll often be pretty tentative about posting videos to market their business or otherwise share their offer with the world. But as they move through my 21 day challenge, for example, they gain that confidence, give their idea the nourishment it needs to grow, and reap the rewards in impact and profit.
Speaking of the challenge, if you want to drive massive impact and profit through video, this is the greatest place to start! Head to InfiniteImpactChallenge.com to get all the details on my latest challenge and secure your spot!
