Let’s talk about how to increase your likes, followers, build awareness and generate leads for your business!

YouTube is the largest video search engine and because Google owns it, this is a platform that you should definitely be investing your time into. It’s a great way to reach your audience, to provide them value and to also be discovered by a potential audience. Today I’m going to teach you the best ways of how to reach your audience and be discovered on YouTube.

People are already searching for the type of content you want to create. Think of the things that you google on a daily basis and now think about the things that your potential customers or your current audience could be googling to find your video. Then create a video on that.

Use concise titles that have high ranking keywords when you’re posting your YouTube videos. Think of the things that people are searching for and use that keyword, use that phrase, in your title. It’s really important to do your keyword research before even filming your video so that you know exactly what you’re talking about and how you’re framing the video to correctly reach your audience.

Place custom thumbnails to identify the content but also to stay consistent with your brand, so for example, if you look at my YouTube thumbnails, I always have a picture of me in it and I always stay consistent with the type of images I use and even the fonts and colors.

Be thorough in your video descriptions. When you’re writing it, think of “What am I watching?” Include those keywords in your description, so it’s also searchable through what you’ve written in your description. Also be sure to include links and other actionable steps that you want them to take, whether that’s going to your website or following you on other social media platforms.

Use annotations, info cards and overlays in your videos. These are auto-expandable links that allow your audience to click on them to take action, to go to the next step, so this could be click here to subscribe, it could be click here to watch this video, click here to go to this website. These tools are available on YouTube’s Creator Studio that you’ll find when you’re uploading your video.

Use shortened URLs when you’re putting them inside your description so that it makes it a little bit easier to drive your audience where you want them to go. You can copy and paste a URL into tinyurl.com or into bitly.com and that way the URL is just shortened instead of one really long jumble.

Last but not least, this is my most important tip, this is what’s going to allow you to continue building those relationships and generate leads for your business. Ideally, like I said, in the description below, you want to be posting links and inviting them to follow you on your other social media platforms but you can also include a freebie or this is also called a lead magnet or a freemium, just some other words for it, where you’re offering them something in exchange for them signing up to your mailing list. For example, I’m gonna offer you one right now…
