So, how do you get those high rankings for your content needs? Here are five search engine copyrighting secrets you can apply to boost your search engine ranking and make your content king.

Keywords are the key. Keywords are the combinations of words or phrases that users type in search engines when they look for content. Think of all the things that you type into Google when you’re searching and now think of the things that people may be typing in to find your content and use those keywords while writing your content. Keywords are the main language that search engines understand when they try to index what content is more relevant to what users need. Using targeted keywords is the key to make your content discoverable and drive traffic.

Now, when you’re writing content on your website, there are several places you want to make sure that you’re using your main keywords. These crucial spaces are title tag. This can be the title of your pages or blog posts. H1, H2, H3 tags. These are the subtitles or headers on your pages. First paragraph of content. This is really important because having the focus keywords in the first paragraph ensures that the topic is made clear immediately. Anchor text. This is the text that has a clickable hyperlink that will bring people to another page. Meta description and tags. These are tags and descriptions in the coding that tells search engines what your page is about. Image description and file name. Believe it or not, it’s actually really important to include keywords in your file names. So if you’re uploading a picture, make sure the file isn’t just named image one, two, three, four or screenshot. But that you’re actually using keywords to describe your file in the title of your file. Word of warning, don’t spam your website with the same repeated keywords. Use synonyms of your main keywords to make sure that your content seems more natural and organic. If you use the same words in the content over and over and over and over again, search engines will actually penalize your site for over-optimization and high keyword density.

Make sure your headlines are intensely optimized. Focusing on optimizing your headlines can make or break your discovery ranking. In crafting your headline, focus on three major headline preferences. A number. Attach a number in your headline such as 10 ways to grow your online business Addressing reader need. Place content that users need. Make sure that you use the right kind of keywords by searching for those that have a high search volume. This means that the keywords you will place on your headlines reflect those words related to your post that users will look for the most.

Work on your tags and meta descriptions. Aside from your headlines, work on your meta descriptions as well. Tags are labels to categorize your content and meta descriptions are the summaries of the webpages that appear below the headline in the search engine result page. These two are discoverable elements that help search engines understand what your content is all about. Again, for the purpose of SEO, make sure to use the right tags and meta descriptions by searching for relevant keywords that people will actually search for when they look for content like yours. Take advantage of meta descriptions by adding your targeted key words that you used both in your headline and tags.

Link it up. Page links make your page more discoverable and shows how your content is relevant. By placing links that people can access on your page and allowing people to click back, it means that your content matters. Links improve the user experience and helps build traffic to your site. How do you make sure that you attract links from important websites and content curators? Well, you have to make sure that you have great content and ask your follows and readers to share.

Write compelling content. Optimizing your content with the right targeted keywords is one thing, but creating the best content will improve your search engine rankings even better. Google uses page links to analyze going through your site and those links are a factor in judging the credibility of your content. As a guide, make sure that your content is useful. Create how to posts and tips. Valuable. That your content cares about your users and creates value for them. And simple. That it’s easy to understand and works best for a majority of people.
