This year has been full of breakdowns and breakthroughs for me… but it’s also taught me to fight my impulse to push through hard times as quickly as I can.

Hey everybody! This is Marley Jaxx and welcome to the world of video, impact, and profit – or as I like to call it, the VIP Code.

Before we get into today’s podcast episode, here’s some exciting news – the next Infinite Video Impact Challenge is starting up soon! If you’re wanting to add some massive impact and profit potential to your summer, head to InfiniteImpactChallenge.com now!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know – in the past year, I’ve experienced some of the biggest breakthroughs and successes in my business. I’ve spoken on the largest stage of my career, developed new programs to better serve my audience, my team has gone through a lot of changes… the list goes on and on. Business-wise, I can look back on the past year and think, “Wow – look how far I’ve come”.

But I’ve also experienced some of the deepest breakdowns in my personal life. The kind that really shake you up and leave you questioning who you are and what your purpose is.

I’m the type of person that, whenever I face a personal challenge, I’m looking for the quickest route out. Not the easiest route, necessarily, but the one that will let me put this crisis or issue aside the soonest – so I can get back to my career and my regular life.

I’ve always been a person who takes action quickly. I don’t sit on an idea for very long before executing on it. Quick actions lead to quicker results, right?

Wrong. As you might be able to guess, this isn’t the best way forward. Just like with content marketing, we don’t want any shortcuts or quick fixes… because even though they might seem like a great choice in the moment, they’re going to do us a disservice in terms of our long-term growth.

So when I was dealing with these personal hardships, when the discomfort came, I wanted to push through as quickly as I could.  My automatic response was to rush through so that I could escape the hard moments and “get over it” as soon as possible.

But here’s what I didn’t know:

There is no escaping this work. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or a 9-5er, 25 years old or 91, there is no escaping the emotional work that goes along with being a human.

We have 2 choices: to either do the work as it happens, or suppress it in an attempt to “get over it”. Trust me – you don’t want to be the person who suppressed, only to have their unresolved personal problems creep up on them when they least expect it.

Instead, be the person who learns the lesson of letting go. The person who is willing to sit with heartache and grief and accepts whatever comes along with it.

For so long, I’ve skirted the perimeter, thinking I was being brave… but I was really just avoiding the maze. I was cheating myself of actually accomplishing my biggest aspiration – to create impact.

I realize now that I can’t make a difference until I can BE the difference – and it all starts from looking inward.

What I’ve learned is that the best, healthiest, and impactful way out, is through.

Obviously, this kind of emotional work isn’t easy. In fact, it’s way harder than building a funnel or reaching a subscriber milestone…

But when you do this work, everything else in your life gets a bit easier. A bit lighter.

Doing the work results in more impact for your audience, your team, and yourself.

If impact is the name of your game, and you wouldn’t mind making a massive profit through video for your business… head to InfiniteImpactChallenge.com to join the next Infinite Video Impact Challenge with hundreds of other visionary entrepreneurs!
